And the winner is…. First Legal Tech Hub Vienna (LTHV) Demo Day: Law firms and start-ups celebrate the successful programme
On Thursday evening, LTHV hosted its Demo Day for Batch#1 of the Legal Tech Accelerator Programme. Around 150 guests gathered in the “Kuppelsaal” of the Technical University of Vienna to hear about the start-ups’ progress in the past months. The LTHV founding members, cooperation partners, stakeholders and potential investors as well as students interested in legal tech and members of the start-up community attended the event.
Only nine months after founding the LTHV, the first round of the Legal Tech Accelerator Programme has successfully ended. Having received input from experts, business coaching and working in close cooperation with the LTHV law firms for five intensive months, the Demo Day offered the five start-ups (APPbyYou, Contractbook, Jaasper, Miso and Taxy.io) a stage to pitch their progress in front of an interested audience.
“The start-ups have strongly further developed their legal tech products in the LTHV and now have solutions that are interesting for the Austrian legal sector,” so the LTHV board in its welcoming message. “We are now building upon this success: One of our priorities is the growth of LTHV in Austria – we are open to new bar members, new cooperation partners and legal departments. Based on the good international feedback, we are paving the way for the internationalization of LTHV,” adds LTHV Board Member Stefan Artner about the future of LTHV.
Two winners were awarded at the end of the evening – one was chosen by the jury and the other by the audience. The jury decided on Miso from Scotland, due to their extraordinary learning curve during the LTHV accelerator programme. The audience awarded Contractbook from Denmark.
The LTHV is already preparing for Batch#2, which will launch in September. “We’re already looking forward to the applications for Batch#2. After running the first very successful programme, we can now narrow down where our focus should be for the next. This time we’re looking for specific areas, such as KYC and conflict checks”, says Thomas Kulnigg (schoenherr), LTHV Jury Member.
Start-ups and SMEs from the legal tech sector still have until 1st August to apply for the unique programme. The call is open to anyone working on digital solutions based on machine learning, AI, platforms, semantics or blockchain addressing legal topics such as client management, legal management, transactions, business development or data analysis.
